On September 22, Chinese “One Belt One Road” TOP10 influence social think tank network Economic and Social E-commerce Research Center released the “2021 (Part 1) China Online Retail Market Data Report”. The report shows that in the first half of 2021, the transaction scale of the Chinese online shopping reached 6279.1 billion yuan. And the number of users exceeded 800 million.
In the first half of 2021, the performance of domestic retail e-commerce is two-fold. Platforms such as Dingdong , Goddess Hall, Weitu New Retail, Liwo E-commerce, Lama Manager,and Baogege collapsed. However, Live e-commerce, social e-commerce, community group buying are frequent in various segments.
Chinese Online Shopping exceeded 6 trillion yuan in the first half of 2021
According to the “Dianshubao” database, in the first half of 2021, the domestic online retail market’s transaction scale reached 6,279.1 billion yuan. A year-on-year increase of 17.1% from 5.36 trillion yuan in the first half of 2020. We estimate that online retail sales will reach 13.64 trillion yuan in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 14.43%.

From 2015 to 2021, the scale of online retail transactions continued to grow. The growth rate remained at over 30% from 2015 to 2017, and it has hovered around 20% since then.
Retail sales of consumer goods account for nearly 30%
According to the “Dianshubao” database, the transaction scale of China’s online retail market in the first half of 2021 was 6,279.1 billion yuan. However, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 1,860.49 trillion yuan, comes in at 29.63%.

Online shoppers spent more than 7,600 yuan on average
According to the “Dianshubao” database, the number of domestic online retail users reached 820 million in the first half of 2021. And the number of users will reach 858 million in 2021, an increase of 8.74% year-on-year. According to the size of online shopping transactions of 6,279.1 billion yuan. The average online shopping value per person is more than 7654.4 yuan.
Among them, as of June 30, 2020, the total number of annual active users of JD.com reached 531.9 million. A year-on-year increase of 27.4%. Pinduoduo had 849.9 million active buyers, a year-on-year increase of 24%. The number of annual active users in the Taobao was 828 million.
